Dear Friends, Let me introduce you to Local Artist Linda Schisler at HorseSpirit Arts Gallery. Linda takes stunning photographs – with a passion for Old Ellicott City. She has been with the Gallery about four months and I am very pleased to introduce you to her.

About Linda Schisler: A lifelong resident of the Baltimore area, Linda began her professional career over 30 years ago. Even as a child, she always had her Kodak Instamatic camera with her, just waiting to capture that perfect photo.

Linda worked as a photographer and videographer for an Aerospace company in the 1980s, spending countless hours in the darkroom learning and perfecting her skills. She also owned her own photography studio in the 1990s, specializing in pet and children’s portraits and weddings.

However, being an accomplished photographer is but one of Linda’s artistic outlets. She presently works as a Graphic Artist with a concentration on graphic design and animations. Over the past 15 years she has completed the design and layout for seven published books. And, purely for the fun of it, she dabbles in painting and pottery.

One of Linda’s current photography passions is her hometown Old Ellicott City. With a superb eye for beauty, she seeks out the details and nuances that make Ellicott City so special to so many. She is also Co-Owner and Artistic Director of Creatives, LLC, a local business providing creative design solutions.

In closing: Please come see Linda’s beautiful photography, along with the original creations of over 45 other Local Artists. I look forward to seeing you soon. Abundant Kindness, Robin Holliday

Dear Friends, Let me introduce you to Local Artist Peter Kosterich at HorseSpirit Arts Gallery. Peter creates beautiful Jewelry. He has been with the Gallery about six months and I am very pleased to introduce him to you.

About Peter Kosterich:
From Peter’s childhood, he has always been fixing, tinkering and modifying bikes, toys, and whatever he thought he could improve. He was the neighborhood “fix it kid.” This evolved over the years into a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Pratt Institute in New York, and his handyman business of 31 years, Perau Associates in Columbia, Maryland.

While at Pratt Institute, many of Peter’s friends were artists in various media, so while he was learning engineering, he was also learning design. And yes, he continued modifying tools for both himself and his friends.

His knowledge of engineering skills coupled with a side education in design, and love of experimenting and modifying, led him to working with precious metals and making jewelry.
Under the guidance of precious gem and precious metal artist Kevin White, Peter began his journey into a second profession, Jewelry Designer.

Peter’s work is generally abstract in nature as he continues to push the limits of his tools and materials. All are completely original designs and completely handmade. Most are 92.5% Sterling Silver and some include embedded cubic zirconia, or diamonds. And some pieces are copper and brass with various patinas. Peter creates his own texture plates for design embossing patterns.

Peter also collaborates with his wife Elizabeth (Beth) Kosterich, also a Jewelry Artist at HorseSpirit Arts Gallery, with a primary media of professional clay, to create unique designs incorporating both the precious metals and the clay. Peter and Beth live in Columbia, Maryland.

In closing: Please come see Peter’s beautiful Artwork along with the original creations of over 45 other Local Artists. Look forward to seeing you soon. Abundant Kindness, Robin Holliday
