Dear Friends, I am thrilled to present local Artists Trudy Babchak, Nancy Ennis and Wendy Ng’s Art Show “Adventure in Design”, 2 April - 23 April, 2017 at HorseSpirit Arts Gallery. Trudy creates acrylic impressionist figurative paintings; Nancy creates jewelry of sterling silver involving chainmaille, beadweaving, and hand-forged metal; and Wendy delicately designs decorated eggs with Pysanky technique.
Opening Reception on Sunday 2 April, 1-4PM. Come enjoy their beautiful artwork in the company of friends, festive food and beverage.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Trudy Babchak – Being the daughter of two Holocaust survivors, Trudy has always been interested in exploring the conflicting emotions that accompany survival. Being an impressionistic painter, the challenge of rendering joy, relief, fear, and guilt all at once has been both daunting and irresistible–a chance to contrast the innocence of life with the rigid terror of something like the Nazi regime.
Nancy Ennis – Designing and creating jewelry is Nancy’s passion and joy! She uses many techniques in her art including bead-weaving, wire-wrapping, wire-weaving, and metal-smithing – all of which enable her to create chainmaille, bead-weaving, and hand-forged metal jewelry. You are as likely to see her working with a needle and thread as you are to find her with a hammer and torch!
Wendy Ng – Wendy’s varied life experiences including Artist, Educator & Business woman, all influence her work. Her eye for color and multicultural designs has been honed by her early fine arts training in Chinese water colors, calligraphy, stone seal carving, various western arts media and her later efforts in graphic design. She is currently fascinated by wax-resist geometric egg designs that need a steady hand and precision. horsespiritartsgallery.com/artists-art/
