Geraldine Butler - "The definition of perseverance is 'persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.' I would argue that success has nothing to do with perseverance, as one can persevere without reaching an end goal or point of 'achievement.' And as it relates to art in particular, art-making is a process of following ones passion and persevering through the challenges that come with the act of creating as well as the challenge of being an artist in modern day times. So, to me, all works of art are in some way representative of the idea of perseverance."
