day_smallHandmade Specialty Cards – Watercolor Painting, Collage & Stamping

Owner, Paper and Ink Imaginings

Kathy Daisey is a self-described “Math Geek” with a keen eye for color. She believes there is a card for every occasion, a very personal way to connect with another person.

For most of her adult life, Kathy has had an affinity for greeting card stores. In the fall of 2002, she was invited to a catalog stamping party in a nearby cul-de-sac. “I can make my own greeting cards?!!!” was the verbalized epiphany. She has been collecting stamps, inks, paints, markers, paper, various adhesives, dies and embellishing doo-dads ever since.

beautiful_smallA Maryland native (with several years away in New England and Germany), Kathy graduated from Towson State University (now Towson University) with a BA in Mathematics. Her short career took her from psychological testing software to weapons directions systems and beyond. She left software and equations behind to start a family over 20 years ago. She has lived in Ellicott City MD since 1985, where she now resides with her family.

Deborah Maklowski allowed me to video her colored pencil demo; she began drawing at 12:30 & stopped at 4:30. Besides checking out a students progress (18 seconds) and a lunch break she worked steadily. Imagine if the world paid artists by the hour… Please watch the videos carefully, Deborah lost her kneaded eraser, & we can’t find it, if you see it roll off the table let us know. ☺️ #innerworkingsouterjourneys #horsespiritartist See MoreSee Less

Allison Pasarew wraps, weaves & "sews" her sculptures using impossibly thin wire repurposed from today’s broken & replaced technology. Here Allison stands with her, very impressed, Dad.
Inner Workings, Outer Journeys with Allison Pasarew & Deborah Maklowski runs though Sun, Oct 4th.
